HubSpot, Zoho CRM and Pipedrive are three of the most common CRMs small businesses consider. They take different approaches: HubSpot leads with a free tier and an all-in-one platform, Zoho offers low per-user prices and lots of features, and Pipedrive focuses on a visual sales pipeline. Here's how they compare on price and fit for a team of 1 to 10 people.

How we wrote this: we read each vendor's public pricing and plan pages (linked below) and compared them for a business with 1 to 10 people. We have not run a long-term hands-on test yet, and we will say so on this page when we have.

Price comparison (as of Nov 2026)

All prices are US list prices per user (seat) per month from each vendor's pricing page. Taxes are extra. Check the vendor site, because promotions change often.

HubSpot's Professional and Enterprise "starts at" prices are for core seats. HubSpot's catalog lists separate, higher-priced Sales and Service seats for full Sales Hub or Service Hub features. Pipedrive's pricing page shows annual prices and says annual billing saves up to 42% compared with monthly.

What 3 users cost per month

Option3 users, monthly cost
Zoho CRM Free$0 (3 users allowed)
HubSpot FreeNot possible (2-user limit)
HubSpot Starter at list price$60
Zoho CRM Standard, annual$42
Pipedrive Lite, annual$42
Pipedrive Growth, annual$117

Simple math from list prices: users times the per-seat price. HubSpot's new-customer Starter offer would be lower while it lasts.

HubSpot: best if you want to start free and grow into marketing

HubSpot's free CRM includes contact management, deal pipelines, import, a reporting dashboard and its Breeze AI assistant, with no expiration date. Its strength is the wider platform: marketing email, forms, service tools and content tools share the same customer records. Starter removes HubSpot branding, raises limits, and adds email and chat support.

Watch for: the 2-user and 1,000-contact limits on free, only 10 custom properties, and costs that climb at Professional and with specialty seats. Read more in Is HubSpot's free CRM enough?

Zoho CRM: best value per user

Zoho's free edition covers up to 3 users and includes contact management, follow-up reminders, workflow automation, up to 10 custom email templates, standard reports, and mobile apps. Standard adds email integration and mass email, built-in calling, multiple pipelines, web forms and sales forecasting. Professional adds process management, inventory, quotes (CPQ) and unlimited reports. Zoho also lists a QuickBooks integration on Enterprise and offers Bigin, a simpler CRM for teams moving off spreadsheets.

Watch for: more settings to learn, and the jump between monthly and annual prices. Zoho says there are no contracts, so you can pay monthly or yearly and switch plans anytime.

Pipedrive: best for a hands-on sales pipeline

Pipedrive is built around a visual pipeline. Lite includes lead, deal and calendar management, AI-assisted reports, 500+ integrations and its meeting-intelligence tool. Growth adds full email sync with tracking, automations and follow-up sequences, and a meeting scheduler. Premium adds lead routing, scoring, and contracts with e-signatures.

Watch for: there's no free plan, and email sync and automation start at Growth ($39 per seat annually). Add-ons such as LeadBooster and Campaigns cost extra.

Which one should you pick?

How to test before you commit

  1. Write down the 3 things you need most, for example "see every open quote," "reminders to follow up," and "log emails automatically."
  2. Import the same 20 real customers into each tool you're considering.
  3. Run one week of real follow-ups in each.
  4. Count users honestly. Seat-based pricing is what moves your bill the most.
  5. Check whether the price you see is a promotion and what it renews at.

Our verdict

For most first-time CRM users with one or two people, start with HubSpot's free CRM; you can upgrade only when you hit a limit. If three people need access on day one and you want to pay nothing, Zoho's free edition is the better fit. If your team does active outbound selling and wants email sync and automated follow-ups, Pipedrive Growth is worth a trial. Whatever you choose, a weekly follow-up habit matters more than the tool.
